Founder & Lead Mentor

Pit. Pain. Purpose. Power.

The transformational journey of Dr Abigail Magwenzi—and the revelation of Accelevation that was born in the pit.

The Lead Mentor

A life that turned adversity into transformation

There are people who teach transformation because they studied it. Then there are people who teach it because life forced them to live it.

Dr Abigail Magwenzi’s story is not one of uninterrupted success. It is a story of loss, collapse, rebuilding and the extraordinary decision to rise when life had stripped away almost everything familiar.

A career of learning, leadership and influence

Her professional journey spans academia, television, entrepreneurship, women’s economic empowerment, leadership and community development. As a lecturer at the University of Zimbabwe, teaching and engaging with students strengthened her passion for education, knowledge-sharing and personal development.

She later became a television presenter on My Home, extending her reach to wider audiences and growing as a public communicator. In 2017, while volunteering with the Ministry of Women’s Affairs, she chaired civic-community participation connected to the establishment of the Zimbabwe Women’s Microfinance Bank. The experience deepened her conviction that women need meaningful access to financial services, capital and opportunities to build sustainable enterprises.

These experiences shaped Dr Abigail into the teacher, communicator, entrepreneur, mentor and institution builder whose practical wisdom now anchors the Accelevate Mentorship Program.

The defining journey

Pit Pain Purpose Power

Dr Abigail lost her beloved husband to alcohol-related liver cirrhosis. On the first day of Zimbabwe’s COVID-19 lockdown in 2020, she lost one of her sons; during the devastating second wave in 2021, she lost another. Between those losses, her last surviving brother also died. Beneath the grief was financial collapse: the matrimonial home was lost, businesses disappeared and the life she had built seemed to crumble piece by piece.

“I lost myself.” She calls that season the pit.

The pit is a place where dreams feel distant, questions become louder than answers and simply making it through the day can feel like an achievement. Drawing strength from the biblical story of Joseph, she came to understand that pain, rejection and delay do not always mean a life is over. Sometimes they are preparing a person for the next level.

The pit is not where you die. It is where you design your comeback.

That conviction changed everything. Before she could rebuild organisations, businesses or influence, she had to rebuild her thinking. Faith became her anchor, and Isaiah 60:22—its promise of the smallest becoming mighty and God making it happen swiftly—gave language to the elevation and acceleration she was beginning to live.

Lessons lived before they were taught

The principles that emerged from the pit

01

Brain Power

Reprogram before you rebuild. Pain can shrink imagination, but it does not have to rewrite identity. Changing your world begins with challenging the thinking through which you see it.

02

Belief

Believe when nothing looks possible. Faith became a lifeline when every visible circumstance suggested that her best days were behind her.

03

Big

Never let temporary circumstances permanently reduce the size of your future. You may occupy a small space and still carry a massive vision.

04

Bold Moves

The 2017 International Women’s Day call to “Be Bold for Change” stayed with her. Rebuilding would eventually require one courageous move after another.

05

Branding

“The Red Lipstick Stays On” became a declaration that pain may change circumstances, but it does not decide identity—and grew into a movement helping women reclaim confidence and purpose.

06

Bouncing Back

When two of her surviving sons struggled with substance abuse, the question shifted from “Why is this happening to me?” to “What can I do because this happened to me?” Pain began pointing toward purpose.

07

Benevolence

Supporting people affected by addiction and mental-health challenges brought an unexpected truth: while helping others recover, she was recovering too. Purpose often begins where personal pain meets somebody else’s need.

Three years. A new life.

Four crowns of purpose

Her personal rebuilding became an ecosystem of institutions, movements and initiatives created to transform the lives of others.

I

Mental Health

Through FASAA Rehabilitation Centre, a Step-Down Facility and a free Community Drop-In Centre, Dr Abigail supports addiction recovery and community wellbeing. Kelly’s Kitchen provides meals to vulnerable people each Friday, while the Basket of Hope Awards recognise those advancing mental health and recovery. Her work also includes COMWAS, an emerging national collaborative platform, and the internationally affiliated Inspired Bible School.

II

Women’s Empowerment

The Red Lipstick Revolution grew into a wider economic-empowerment ecosystem that includes WECAP—Women Economic Consortia Apex—the Kana Mudzimai Ada Savings and Credit Cooperative, an emerging pharmacy venture and a Mukuru money-transfer agency.

III

Authorship

Her books include Move On Is the Way Forward and The Red Lipstick Stays On!—You Don’t Have to Look Like What You Are Going Through, with forthcoming works exploring “Dealing with the Issues Hidden in the Tissues” and “Filling the Cracks.”

IV

Disability Advocacy

Having raised her son Farai, who lived with Down syndrome and later passed away, Dr Abigail transformed that experience into continued service through the Farai Magwenzi Foundation, advocating for persons with disabilities and supporting their families and caregivers.

The revelation

Acceleration + Elevation = Accelevation

Acceleration means movement. Elevation means rising. Accelevation means moving forward while rising higher—the disciplined pursuit of closing the gap between where you are and where you are capable of becoming.

It is not built on shortcuts or empty motivation, but on transformed thinking, belief, disciplined behaviour, courageous action, strategic relationships, financial intelligence, resilience and purpose.

This became the foundation of the 15 Bs Mindset Reprogramming Concept and Business Accelevators: Brain Power, Belief, Behavior, Big, Borderless World, Bridging Networks, Building Leadership, Bold Moves, Business Acumen, Bankability, Branding, Budgeting, Bouncing Back, Benevolence and Balanced Living.

Every B carries a lesson. Every lesson carries a story.
Now the story turns to you

Your pit does not get the final word

Your pit may look like debt, failure, rejection, a broken relationship, a collapsed business, a stalled career, grief, fear, illness, impairment, confusion—or the painful realisation that you are nowhere near the life you once imagined.

Dr Abigail’s story is not here simply to be admired. It is an invitation to consider a new possibility: your pain can become information, your setback can become strategy and your lowest chapter can become the birthplace of your greatest move.

The Accelevate Mentorship Program is about more than learning the 15 Bs. It is about becoming them—thinking differently, acting differently, building differently and living differently.

The pit does not get the final word. Pain does not get the final word. Failure does not get the final word. You do.

Reprogram. Reset. Rise.Your Accelevation starts now.
